Emergency measures for diethyl zinc
Skin contact: Rinse with running clean water and seek medical attention promptly.
Eye contact: Pull apart the eyelids and rinse with running clean water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention promptly.
Inhalation: Remove from the scene to a place with fresh air. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult. If breathing stops, perform artificial respiration immediately. Seek medical attention promptly.
Ingestion: For accidental ingestion, take orally milk, soybean milk, or egg white, and seek medical attention promptly.
Personal protection during diethyl zinc production operations
Respiratory protection: Wear a gas mask when there is a possibility of exposure to its vapor. If necessary, wear a gas mask.
Eye protection: Wear chemical safety goggles.
Body protection: Wear anti-static work clothes.
Hand protection: wear protective gloves
Precautions for storage of diethyl zinc
Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 30℃. The relative humidity should be kept below 75%. Packaging must be sealed and must not come into contact with air. Handle and dispose of in a nitrogen atmosphere. It should be stored separately from oxidizers, halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine), etc. When handling, be gentle to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Personal protective equipment should be worn during sub-packaging and handling operations.
Emergency response to diethyl zinc leakage
Evacuate personnel from the contaminated area to a safe area, prohibit unrelated personnel from entering the contaminated area, and cut off sources of ignition. It is recommended that emergency responders wear gas masks and general firefighting protective clothing. Stop the leak under safe conditions. Use sand, dry lime, or soda ash to mix and collect the leaked material in a closed container using non-sparking tools, and transport it to a waste disposal site. Alternatively, it can be poured into an open area and spontaneously combust after drying. In case of a large leak, use a containment dike to contain the leak, then collect, transfer, recycle, or dispose of it in a harmless manner.
